System errors can affect almost any operating system and one of those errors is ERROR_TOO_MANY_POSTS.

You can easily spot this error by having too many messages in a semaphore message, and in this guide we’ll show you how to fix it.

How can I fix the ERROR_TOO_MANY_POSTS error?

1. Disable or remove your antivirus

Your antivirus program can cause this kind of problem. If you can’t find the security feature causing the problem, you can try disabling your antivirus completely.

Keep in mind that disabling your antivirus won’t make your system vulnerable because Windows 10 comes with Windows Defender that works like a standard antivirus.

If disabling your antivirus program doesn’t solve the problem, consider uninstalling your antivirus software. Keep in mind that antivirus programs tend to leave certain files and registry entries even after they’ve been removed.

These files can also interfere with your system, so we recommend using a special removal tool.

We highly recommend downloading and installing IObit Uninstaller as it is easy to work with and will uninstall your old antivirus in seconds without leaving a trace.

If uninstalling the antivirus fixes the problem, try switching to a different antivirus program and see if the problem recurs.

For that task, we recommend VIPRE Antivirus Plus, a very powerful security solution with an easy-to-use user interface that is available at a reasonable price.

We should mention its most important feature, Advanced Active Protection which uses machine learning to block even the most dangerous threats like polymorphic malware (they change their signature to avoid detection).

2. Install the latest Windows updates

Windows will now check if your system is up to date. If an update is available, Windows will automatically download it in the background. After updating the system to the latest version, check if the error message still appears.

Note: Windows 10 is a great operating system, but it has some bugs and compatibility issues. Sometimes system errors can cause this error to appear when running specific applications.

To ensure that your PC is error-free, it is always a good idea to keep your Windows up to date. The update process is simplified in Windows 10 and all important updates are automatically downloaded in the background.

3. Perform a Clean boot

To find the problem app, you need to enable the apps and services one by one or in groups. Please note that you will need to restart your PC after enabling each set of applications to apply the changes.

Once you find the problematic app, you can keep it disabled, update it or remove it from your PC.

4. Keep your apps updated

We have already mentioned that you should keep Windows up to date if you want to make sure that your system is error-free.

Since third-party applications can cause this problem, it is important to keep them up to date to reduce the chance of errors.

If the problem occurs when you try to run a specific application, try updating that application to the latest version and see if that fixes the problem.

Aside from updating your apps, you can also try reinstalling the problem app as a possible solution.

5. Remove any recently installed applications

Once your PC is restored, the problem should be fixed and everything should work normally.

Note: The System Restore feature allows you to revert your PC to an earlier state and undo any recent changes.

Keep in mind that this process can delete all recently saved files, so if you have any important files, make sure to back them up beforehand.

7. Reset Windows 10

  1. Open the Start menu and click the power button. Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and choose Restart from the menu.

4.You will now see a list of the changes the reset will make. Click Reset to continue.
5.Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Note: This is a drastic solution and it will delete all files and apps from your system drive so make sure to create a backup. You may also need a Windows 10 installation media to complete this process.

After you reset Windows 10, you need to install all your apps and move files from the backup. This solution will delete all files from the system disk, so use it only if other solutions do not solve the problem.
