Along with eBay, Amazon is the world’s most famous online shopping website. You can find almost any item you want, both used and new, and at great prices.
The online store is available to everyone worldwide and offers everyone the opportunity to buy almost any item (subject to the seller’s shipping policy). And now there’s an Amazon app for Windows 10, Windows 8, and RT.
Plus, Amazon offers incredible deals for special occasions like Black Friday and now Christmas. In addition, buyers have the opportunity to compare prices and find the cheapest one.
Amazon is probably the best place to shoot this season and be sure to check out their deals where you’ll find a great gift for every member of your family.
Amazon comes to Windows 10
Amazon has already delighted us with top-notch mobile apps for Android and iOS, and now it’s made its way to Windows 10.
The app is free to download from the Windows Store and offers buyers a lot of cool features, but there is also room for improvement. We will walk you through the application and highlight its strengths and weaknesses.
Once you have downloaded and installed the app, the main screen will give you some of the recommended items in the store, which you can add to your wish list or shopping cart. The login and map buttons are available at the top right of the screen, as is the search bar.
By scrolling to the right, you can also see your recommended items and another item that may be of interest to you based on your wish lists. In addition, on the same screen are the most popular items (books, cameras and electronics) from the online store and the most wanted.
One thing that is missing from this great UI is the Show More button, as you can only see a few from each category, and also, to add an item to your wish list, you have to open it before doing this. .
They would be a great addition in future versions of the app, and I’m sure Amazon is already working on them.
By opening your account, you can view your details and wish list and also provide feedback or log out of the app. While these links are very conveniently placed, they lead you to the Amazon website (except Opt Out and Provide Feedback).
The option to view your wish list from within the app is not supported yet, and as for the account details and information, these can only be accessed from the website, but I think this is more of a security measure than a drawback of the app.
You can see which items you want to buy at any time by clicking the Map button. This will open a window in the application where you can see a list of items and their prices, as well as the total amount you have to pay.
We also reviewed the eBay app for Windows 10 and if you’ve seen it, you know that it doesn’t support in-app purchases.
Well, Amazon has this feature and you can easily buy anything from the app without having to visit the Amazon website.
Another problem the application has, and I’d say it’s more of a design flaw, is filtering the search results. While it works quite well, the design isn’t as good as you might expect.
If you’ve added a filter you didn’t want, or if you change your mind, you should remove all filters, not just one in particular.
Amazon app evolution
Amazon has made many changes to the app since its launch. After a lot of testing, they released a major update in 2014 with improvements and bug fixes. In the spring of 2016, they announced a new app for Windows 10 devices to improve the customer experience.
In the summer of 2016, Amazon stopped supporting Windows phones, but they released the new application for PCs with Windows 10. However, the application from our review can always be used despite its age and the fact that “it is not that popular “.
Update: The Amazon app for Windows 10 is a web container similar to native site navigation. Even if this app might be the last one for PC users, let’s look at some pointers for a future mobile app.
In the app description is an Amazon icon that appears to be designed for mobile devices. The most optimistic users see it as a sign.
However, the Amazon app is still great for shopping, especially if you don’t want to use your browser while you’re at it. Let’s look at the strengths and weaknesses.
Amazon for Windows 10 – Pros and Cons
Here are the areas that impressed us the most about the app:
- Easy to use
- Clean and responsive user interface
- Application in the purchase
But as good as it is, there are some aspects that should be improved in the application:
- There is no “see more” for a category of articles.
- Filtering is cumbersome and not very intuitive
- There is no option to edit your account from within the app (could be a security feature, but still it would have been nice to have this feature)
Although it is not without its problems, Amazon for Windows 10 is a great application with many features and a very clean user interface. All this makes it an essential application for Amazon users, and its in-app purchase feature allows users to purchase items without having to visit the online store.
From a performance standpoint, the app is rock solid, with no connectivity issues or failures during the trial period. In addition, the search and share options work seamlessly and very quickly. Amazon for Windows 10 has what it takes to make a great app, and after the developers fix all the minor app design issues, it’s flawless.
